He’s 14. He has no combat experience, which makes sense.
His mom recently died from A ROCKET MISSILE in a array of bullets and explosions while everyone around you dies due to the purge being Murder in disguise followed by being branded by something you fear most and are now one of the most scary monsters on the face of existance and being forced to fight with one of the people whom you absolutely HATE with a time limit before you become a rotting walking ZOMBIE!!!

@Crusina I appreciate that, my biggest gripe is that he didn’t stand up for his mother when she needed it. That’s why I’ve got such a harsh initial opinion. I get why people defend hope, It’s not hard to see why after a while. But…to each his own. So I guess thats it.

@Crusina I’m not saying it’s a counter, I’m just saying you at least need to acknowledge the fact that it’s not such a far fetched opinion. And I’m all for versatility with character design, but he wouldn’t even help his mother. He complains so much at the beginning, but he let his mother take the rifle during the fight. Thats a coward, because a real son would have stood up for his mother.
