Mission 3: Massif Contamination No Crystarium Usage Challenge No Equipment Leveling Normal Battle Speed The first significant enemy in a mission, but still just a small fry. It has a relatively high Magic stat, yet no magic attacks to make use of it. Ugallu HP: 282960 Strength: 395 Magic: 718 Strategy: Start with a Preemptive Strike; you can sneak up on it by baiting it, or you can be lazy like me and use a Deceptisol. Start off in Offensive Screen, so you can extend the stagger time a bit. Switch to Aggression to initiate the stagger as well as attack the enemy throughout. Since the enemy is immune to Thunder, Lightning is best used as a Commando here. Once the first stagger is over, alternate between Offensive Screen and Mystic Tower to build up another stagger. It follows the pattern of four regular attacks followed by Virulent Breath. Although it’s immune to Thunder, it still helps raise the chain. Once you stagger it again, switch to Aggression again, and summon Odin. Build up the percentage a bit, then finish it off with Zantetsuken. With a 640.0% stagger, the instant kill would be 649 x 3 x 6.400 x 6.400 = 79749.12 (Odin’s Strength x 3 x Stagger^2), which is about 28% of the enemy’s HP.
