Final Fantasy XIII – Odin – [Eidolon Battle]
Up to this point, the game is pretty easy, until you face the Eidolon Odin. Odin doesn’t take any crap. Accessory: Spark Ring x2 Default Paradigm: Dualcasting -Libra -Auto-Chain -Switch to Ying & Yang Paradigm -Auto-Chain -Potion etc… When Odin puts on ‘Ullr’s Shield’, switch to ‘Dualcasting’ Paradigm to boost chain bonus and fill the Gestalt meter. Then switch back to ‘Ying & Yang’ when he goes offensive. Use a potion when you think you need it. Odin should focus on Hope most of the time. Some people use ‘Synergist’ to give Hope/Lightning ‘Protect’, and that works too, but it takes too much time switching, so I just use potions while the ATB bar fills. If you still have troubles, you might use an Aegisol or Fortisol if you have any. But I would recommend fighting him without it, since there are more battles like this down the line, and you might not have items to help you. playing this game, fun level is about 100% hit this part, fun drops down to 0% hey challenge is fun, die a couple of times but in the end you get through, but in cases like this part you die a bunch of times, not cool, game busting really. You get pissed off and that’s when the game becomes worthless. So at this point the game goes back on shelf for a year or two, until I give a damn about it again.

Odin was simple…..just heal (2 meds) wen ur hp is more than half…..then attk the shiz out of it……..Now the boss at chapter 10 is hard…the time wen u finally get to choose ur battle team…(no spoil)

Also, don’t expect this strategy to work, everyone. This guy has his characters with level 10 weapons so I doubt this was very hard for him. I used this strategy and I think this battle isn’t really about strategy but mere chance. Odin will either kill you in 12 seconds (I counted it, really) or he will refrain and hopefully just single out one of your characters.

I was fighting him today. I tired about 20 times and then gave up. I was using the Double Dose paradigm (where Hope and Lightning are both medics) when Odin was attacking and then switched to the Commando and Ravager paradigm. I was SOOOO close when it said to hit square to claim victory and then Odin did that steel strike thing and killed everyone.
Also, sometimes Odin will randomly strike Lightning down with thunder but not even cast it, I don’t know if this is a glitch or something else.
When I fought him 1st time, I was watching, the fight started then it’s said game over? I was like O.O what just happened? … my ass was kicked “Lighting” fast.. get it Lighting.. giggle
The whole game is fucking retarded, hate it
when I’m about to beat him there is a final lightning that comes from nowhere kills me, thats fucking retarded -__-
@frozken99 The player leveled up their weapon so fast because they didn’t waste anything else on other characters. I asked myself the same question when I saw the weapon Lightning has was lvl 10, but then I saw that Hope’s was only a lvl 1. The player’s just only leveling up Lightnings weapon.

Hope is the worst character in any FF game, so weak its unreal.
The thing that helped me most is: open Settings and set battle speed to “Slow”
I’ve just gotten to this part and it’s so freaking hard! After being beat about 4 times,I remembered the Shiva Sisters fight,so I thought,’Well,one was healing while the other was attacking.’ So,I set Lightning on Commando and Hope on Medic,and did it work? Nope!

It really depends on how he starts the battle, to some degree it is about luck.
because if you and Hope are too close together when he starts that sword combo, it’s all over.

I finally done it in 946, i did not see the little box saying press Square..How annoying, i have tried it like 10 times until bonfire pointed it out…It should be BRIGHT yellow, flashing red or something lol.
