FF12 was way, way, WAY better than FF13.
@fize4ever trust me, before I got this game, my uncle had it as a demo with the DQ8. I fell in love with the demo so much that I kept replaying it. plus i fell in love with penelo, I just love her! I really liked the boss battle music as well, ist too epic. I remember getting this game and a gamestop clerk telling me not to buy this game, but i did anyway. look this game up on gamespot, it has a score of 9.0 and people hate it?
i sold my ps2
i loved the gameplay but the story could have used some romance
or a bigger spark
im gunna miss fighting monsters four hours on ends and stratigizing against bosses i have no chance against yet i always pulled through due to quick thinking and random magick combos
im gonna miss both ashe and balthier to me they had the largest roles
@PhockUTube i think after
@fize4ever i agree, this game practically formed my future of gaming.
To be perfectly honest, I would prefer this game over 10. I love how you can travel and fight at the same time. I do admit the story wasnot great since it was more of a political thing, but still I enjyed playing this. I put in almost 200 hours so thats sayingsomething.
This game was OUTSTANDING! It’s battle system was great and it felt like a real RPG with lots of fun and great gameplay.
All of those who say this game sucked, are a bunch of 12 year old nerds who could not understand how to play this game or how the gambit system worked. It’s a FF game where you need much more strategy than every other FF game.
Only true RPG gamers will enjoy this game. Storyline aside (because it wasnt good), the game was very well done with over 100 guaranteed hours of gameplay and plenty of side quests. It takes a little while to get started, but once your team is about half-assembled, the game picks up. Everything was top notch for its time- music, voices, graphics and gameplay. If you dont enjoy playing this game you are not a true RPG gamer!
I am very surprised here. At times I hated Final Fantasy XII. It just lacked soul. After playing Final Fantasy XIII, I think of this very fondly. This had the soul of Final Fantasy, whereas its sequel didn’t.
XIII just seemed to lose something. The combat looked great, but didn’t have the complexity of this game. Or the fun. Grinding in XII was fun, whereas XIII felt like a chore.
this battle system is way better then the xlll i love it that when you fight you can move and behind the enemy.
this is the best battle system i’ve seen in Final Fantasy for PS2 !
i LOVED this battle system, it was nice to get away just standing there and taking a beating, while u could walk around and take a beating =P
I am a huge final fantasy fan and i was wondering if this is a good one to get, i have not made up my mind, HELP ME?!
this game looks like it sucks
Perfect Final Fantasy.
I want a demo like that
it would be fun to try
This game was loaded with sub quest and boss battles. Not that Final Fantasy 13 bull crap they got now. Man, what a disappointment on a franchise.
@sicklydisturbing if you think that this game is linear you’re fucking retarded!!!
I remember playing this demo, but I completely forgot what game it came with. I was like WTF….THIS…is FF?!?!?! awesome
This game is complete shit.. Its so fucking linear, I know the first 20 hours or so, of 13 are, but thats to welcome new fans.. This game on the other hand is just pure bullshit.
I personally like FF XII battle system. If you want to get most out of it you need to set the battle into active, good/decent gambit set up, and you(the gamer) must do everything that your gambit lacks. Good gambit is not as complex as many people would think, the main purpose of gambits is to prevent players from having to cast temporary spells over and over again by selecting them. Gambit true purpose is not designed for the lazy players, but to assist players instead.
I never liked playing 12 on wait mode. Active mode was more fun. I think thats what I like about 12′s battle system is that there are different ways you can do battle. You can be lazy and just turn on all the gambits for all party members and just watch them fight, or just turn off the gambits on the party leader and take control which is what I do all the time when I play 12, OR turn off PL and the rest of the party’s gambits and take full control over every one
havent played this game, but after watching this video i font know why ppl have a prob with 13′s battle sys..
You shoulda stopped at “This game lacks” ._.
Battles are like Knights of the old Republic, which I also found uninteresting and lacked strategy… Or the will to bother. Gambits take forever to set up and then hey! you’re having to fight differently so back to the drawing board so often…So you end up having to juggle 3 chars and stop-starting for every command. Active doesnt work well cus all your decision-making time just gets your ass handed. Overly cheery gay music for an FF. It really showed in this one that Nobuo is gone. <.<
X3 I LOVE THIS GAME ITS SO FUN
All IMO btw… x3 *does not want to get flamed*
I both loved and hated FF13 with a passion. The good points were awesome but the bad points… were just really bad. xD It’s soooo linear and the only spot for “exploring” is stuffed into one chapter. Fiurthermore, when a game makes you walk around a stupid crystalized lake for four hours… just no…. a game shouldn’t make you do that xD If the storyline weren’t so epic, this batte theme not as badass, and it weren’t an FF, it might have done horribly.
sadly i dont like FFXIII that much but the battle music is awsome
I can hear Masashi’s definite tone here, and it makes me very happy.
@ffangeles what do you have against the last second XD
I’ve heard this so many times that when I am old and dying I will still remember it. And I’ll be smiling, too.
love japanese themes
@ffangeles 2:59 sucks, eh?
@ffangeles lol thats the whole video……well exepct for that last second…….
@wolvenlghiter
wow, i thought i heard the most screwy names of FF … but firion :O they outdid themselves on that 1!
@jailbird1 don’t forget Wakka, Tidus, Rikku and Firion!
@itsagainjustme89 I kinda gotta agree, I got the game , it’s good, but the names – Snow , Lightning, Hope, Vanille, Fang?!?! Sazh was pretty much”!” though.
@jailbird1
late reply i know.. but NO
all the names of ff chars suck (maybe a rare exception here and there?)
i never said i liked the names of other ff’s.. in fact i said i dislike the names of other ff’s too… just read my post again
my ps3 got the YLOD the day i bought this game….only played 2-3 hours =(
@itsagainjustme89 and does Squall, Cloud, Sephiroth, Irvine, Zidane and other names of the series sound normal to you?
Good until the violin plays.
THEN ITS FUKIN EPIC.
@XDRichard
i stuck to my main 3 crystals, and got 1 skill in each other (to be able to use them)
then i beat the game and lvled with quests and beating oretoises (adamantortoise is best i think i think)
the ”newer” roles are quite expensive to level and not as good as the ones u open up after beating the game and beating barthandelus @ the bridge
the neochu mission:
you can try to cast death on him….
it’ll kill him (takes a LOT of tries tho)
kinda cheap, but if just cant beat him..
@itsagainjustme89 From out of all the missions ive done,they gave me x2 Speed Sazhs on 2 of the missions ive done.I might do the one of neochu later on.Right now,im stuck against Barthandelus second form so it might take a little while to lvl up my characters current paradigms up to lvl 4.:(
@XDRichard
yeah their usefull… i wouldnt be able to beat a longui without having done those missions…
or @ least it would take me twice as long
they do give good XP sometimes:) (and you get the CP x2 equipment from the neochu (hidden in oerba))
@itsagainjustme89 Well kinda think of it,your right.I usually skip the Cieth stones and lvl up my characters by just simply killing stronger monsters and such.But sometimes the missions on the game could come useful though seens it gives you alot of good equipments and other stuffs.But for me,its better lvling up my characters in my own way.xD =)
@XDRichard
i dont really count the cieth stones as sidequests, as you noticed:P
its just is a place for to spend too many pointless hours getting stronger to beat nearly unbeatable bosses (seriously, why do we do so?
)
it basically is more fighting monsters… a desperate search to get more bang for your bucks, more to do with the game, a hidden dissatisfaction with the game beeing done
btw, i saved my game at every epic event, and got to 36 or so savegames
just had to say that
@itsagainjustme89 Well yeah i have got to agree with you though.But you know,at the start of chapter 11 you get to start doing like some missions for the Cieth stones at Gran pulse.You can say its a little bit like sidequests but taking them from stones out in the open on the field.But from all of that,yeah i agree that its a challenging game.=D
oh, the songs are great too, overall
none of them get annoying, like it occasionally happens in some other FF’s
i cant say i like all of them, but there are many great ones in the game
i really like the story too. it really drags u into the game
the characters are cool, and realistic
and obviously the graphics are good (as expected from a ff on a next gen console)
oh, the staggering is an awesome feature too! it makes sure the fights dont just drag along and get tedious
i say ff 13 is a 8 outta 10….. the game is great, but replay and postgame is severely disapointing
oh, and why the weird names again, really…. whats wrong with dave/martin/harold etc? makes me wonder
