Final Fantasy 13 Special character moves
This video shows the special abilities that each character has, some i find more useful than others such as hope and vanilles. Each special ability is in stage 9 of their crystarium ( if this is wrong, correct me) Lightning’s army of one is more useful to get the stagger chain to 999% rather than getting the enemy stagered. It’s an 11 hit combo. Sazh’s cold blood is a lot like lightnings army of one, more useful to get the chain to 999 rather than stagger the enemy alone. Vanilles death ability is one of the best in the game, even if unsuccessful it will deal high damage. A normal death chance is usually 1%, but with a synthesis boosts and a weapon with improved debuffing it can increase the chance to 30% Snow’s Sovereign fist is one of my less preferred moves, as you can see in the video attacking an enemy with a staggered chain makes a major difference Fang’s Highwind works exactly the same as Snow’s Sovereign fist, except with her higher strength it will obviously do more damage Hope’s Last resort is a surprisingly good move, it deals damage to most enemies and it does good damage.
Corey’s Tutorial – Before you start the battle cast your shrouds, then when the battle starts stay on Relentless Assault till Dahaka’s Stagger is half way. Then which to diversity and have hope heal you, switch back to Relentless Assault till Dahaka is staggered. Once his staggered is done switch to delta attack. Switch to combat Clinic when Dahaka uses Fulminous Firestorm and Bone-Chilling Breaker. Another attack Dahaka uses is Diluvial Plague, Which inflicts several different status aliments at once. To counter this is to use Dispelga, if you dont have Dispelga use combat clinic and pray lol. Reminders – use Relentless Assault when Dahaka is staggered. When Dahaka casts faith and haste you can cast Dispelga to remove them. Kevins Tutorial – My Battle was Lightning,Snow, and Vanille. Before you start the battle set Tri-disaster as your active paradigms then at the start battle use Libra. When Dahaka is stagger which to Aggression, then use Ruinga this will take a lot of his HP down. Once his staggered is done switch to Thaumaturgy or Diversity this well help to heal any party members that needs healing and will also get his chain gauge up, then follow the same steps. When Dahaka uses Diluvial Plague which to Perpetual Magic or Combat Clinic, then cast Esuna to remove the status aliments. Reminders- Keep on attacking Dahaka don’t let him use Fulminous Firestorm and Bone- Chilling Breaker, only stop when you need to heal. Remember to Always use Ruinga when staggered. MY …

@Dannst3r her special move is use to increase stagger points.
@hectormagi3 Probably Ravager since Fang and Snow end up with higher Strength than her – but she still makes a good Commando. I’d recommend a party of Fang, Lightning and Hope, and have a Com/Com/Rav paradigm for staggered enemies. Fang and Lightning can really dish out the hurt working in tandem, especially if you let the computer-controlled one Launch the enemy first.
@Dannst3r Damage isn’t the point with her special move. It’s supposed to raise the chain gauge on Staggered enemies. It’s the easiest way to get them to 999.9%.
@hectormagi3 ravanger. fang should be yer main comando in ur party at all times (unless theres a boss that needs other characters)

@Dannst3r Its prefer to be used when its on Stagger. Lightning’s specially. Becoz it can reach 999% Stagger quickly, than normal ways.
OMG NO!!!!!!!!! I always though Army of One was for the Commander Role on Lightning. Dammit. So.. Question to anyone, should i focus on training more Lightning on the Ravanger more than on the Commander? Is she better when she is Raveger or Commando. Confused i am, but i need help. Thanks!
tip to everyone: Fang’s and snow’s ability should only be used with 999% bonus shortly away from shock(or is it called stagger?) state end or as a finisher in a battle.
sazh’s ability is better than lightnings, as it will miss less often, but i still prefer lightning.
finally no more yellow,orange, ugly clothing style like tidus,waka and no more immature main char like tidus, vaan. they went back to cool clothing like cloud, seifer, tifa, rinoa, aeris. finally atb like ff7/8 is back. one thing disapoint is ultimate attacks…. it dont look and dont sound so good as ff7/ff8.
I found them totally useless. Only good move is Highwind but others are just ok. I can deal more damage with Lightning normal attacks than using her special move.
I like all those moves! Makes me feel more playing this game =D
@zaruyko it has higher chances when the enemy is cursed. so cast curse first. it also works more when vanille has faith on her.
I was watching it, they all look cool…deal alright damage.

@komododragoshbestfan yeah but you forgot that death has a very big minus which is that it rarely kills someone.

@zaruyko death can be the most useful ability in the game since no enemies are immune except orphans second form.

how did you get the shrouds?
Why not use Highwind or Sovereign Fist or in your case, activate Smite/Scourge at the end of each Stagger to inflict heavy damage…

@MrLegendaryman Their available after you finished Chapter 10. You can also obtain them by getting 1 or no stars when you battle.

well, Push the right bumper, choos which one you want and bobs your uncle.
If you wanna know what each one does look at them in your inventory, or that bit might pop up when you highlight it, some you can use outside combat to avoid battle, most powers you up for your next battle (like in the video) but have a time period so use them just as your about to enter the battle.
Note: you can only use them in free roam.

its weird..i fought this boss yesterday and he was extremely easy. Ne never used that plaque or bone chilling break move. I never had to use shrouds or summons, and i only needed to switch between attacking and healing. Cast slow on this guy and he attacks like once ever minute it seems like.

i used the 3 ladies n i just wailed on em with relentless assault till staggerring jumped to aggression n when i needed healing…salvation. though u may need to make whoever has dispelga leader to manually use it when the boss uses its super stat attack.
