just because rpgs started out turn based doesn’t mean that’s the best system.. i love rpgs; the first one i every played was front mission 3. but my favorite rpg ever FFXII. sure IT’S A FACT that people lost interest in FF when they went ‘action’ but IT’S ALSO A FACT that some of us ‘youngan(36 and counting) wouldn’t have it any other way

well I havnet played any other FF but this game feels really fast paced and action packed but gets boring real quick. The ewxcitment comes again when you fight a boss but ya your right. Lotso of animations but its cool to look at. But you dont get much control

It just seems like the pacing for all the battles of this game are slow in comparison to the older titles. I almost enjoyed the battle system from FF12 better than this one. It just seems like they spent too much time trying to animate the battles instead of the characters actually doing any skills.
The battles just seem……half ass, I even think the battles in FF10 were faster than this lol.
if you used provoke and steelguard you would have been done faster
