So what do you think about Final Fantasy 13 for the Xbox 360?
Question by star9837123: So what do you think about Final Fantasy 13 for the Xbox 360?
Honestly I think it’s a great idea! Xbox lacks good RPG’s and Sony is terribly marketing the PS3. Plus I don’t have the money for one. (It seems way too expensive for a console that doesn’t really have any good games and is simply a DVD player) Like seriously. Wtf is with Blu Ray? DVD’s are ftw man.
So far FF13 has looked really impressive. Nice graphics, battle system, and music. I LOVE Lightning. (Even though she is a female Cloud) And I think Snow is gonna be cool. All I’m worried about is the story. FF12 wasn’t too bad but I really think they could have done without Penelo and Basch. Make Ashe the main character and give Vaan a better background story and it would have been 10x better.
I’m anxiously waiting for KH 358/2 Days to come out. So I’m probably gonna preorder this when I can. Reminds me of how I’m also waiting for Assassin’s Creed 2 (which looks very impressive)

Looks promising. I have both the 360 and PS3, graphics on 360 are better, hands down.
But I may buy FFXIII for PS3 if it is on one disc as opposed to 4 or 5 DVDs for 360!
FFXIII versus looks good as well.

Haven’t played FF13 yet but Xbox360 does have some great RPGs already like Fable 2. I think BluRay is a much better format than DVD as it is capable of 3 times more storage therefore 3 times as much content, I look forward to buying FF13 but it isn’t out in NZ till March 2010 sadly.
Well, incase you don’t know, blu-ray holds more data per disk than the average dvd or even hd dvd for that matter. This means more content or higher detail can be included into games and movies. The only reason why ps3 may lag a bit more is because producers are lazy and originally create the game in xbox format (since its usage with windows). Then they convert the files easily, but messily with a simple program that converts the files into ps3. easily, because it has all that space. Messily, because it actually increases the original data size. This means that the ps3 has to work harder to find and uncompress data.
Anyway, about FF13, I think it’s gonna be good.
wooo!
yea im exited about its release too. 360 has a lot of good rpg’s, just not many final fantasy oriented rpg’s. We have fable, fallout 3. mass effect, blue dram and many many more.
Blue ray is a step forward though, it has a larger capacity which means bigger games, look at mgs4, their right about saying it cant be released on 360 on 1 disc. (although the feature to put games on the harddrive and play them from there would definitely solve that problem)
Ive noticed that many exclusives are becoming multi platform as well, bioshock protoype and some others have gone to ps3, some ps3 exclusives have also come to the 360. mgs rising
KH and assassins creed look awsome, im also looking forward to alan wake, bioshock 2 and others. its gonna be a good year for 360.
Both ps3 and 360 are good consoles
What do you think of natal?
=]
I have to say the 360 IS the current gen RPG leader, not lacking at all. However, compared to SNES and PS1 no system has had rpg’s worth sh**. And the ps3 is completely un-needed if you have a 360. Unless you love mgs4 like me, your ps3 is a paperweight when sitting next to a 360. (I own both)
Blu Ray is awesome if you have a proper HD setup. But I use my PC to play HD more than I watch blu rays.
I love the FF series and am looking forward to 13 too. It may be the first game that’s multi-platform that I actually get for ps3 due to knowing it’s being developed for the ps3 first. But this depends more on if there will be exclusive content on 360 or any sort of online system. Xbox live is far superior to PSN in every way, including the people you play with.
But Assassin’s Creed II THAT”S what I’m waiting for! LOVED the first one, so awesome. Even Kojima-San liked it!!! (creator of Metal Gear series)
Agree. I love the idea. I don’t think I’ll ever be getting a PS3, and I’m a huge fan of the FF series.
I think it’s a great move for FF, they’re going to sell a lot more. But it’s definitely sad news for sony, since FF was one of playstation’s biggest games and some people would of bought a PS3 just for FFXIII
I don’t think I’d necessarily say the 360 LACKS good RPGs. Yes, there are more JRPGs available for the PS3, but the 360 has some damn good ones from other locales (Fable 2 and Lost Odyssey to name a couple), and it’s JRPG selection is growing (Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, etc…).
By the way… don’t knock Blu-ray until you’ve actually experienced a movie in full 1080p high def on a 42 inch screen. I felt the same way you did about DVDs until I got my new TV and a PS3 and actually saw what I’d been missing.
The whole thing is a good move on Square-Enix’s part, though.
They’re going to be earning more money by releasing FFXIII on 360 AND PS3 only in North America (where 360 is by far outselling the PS3), but they’re going to be saving money in Japan (where the majority of their fanbase is, most of whom have a PS3 or Wii) by ONLY releasing on PS3.
It’s going to hurt Sony, though. A multi-platform release in North America means that fewer PS3 are going to sell in our region. I personally know people who were planning on buying a PS3 just for FFXIII. A lot of them probably won’t now, or they’ll hold off until Versus comes out. If Sony would just get off their high horse and drop the price by $ 100, the damn things would fly off the shelves. If Square-Enix changes their minds on Versus XIII and makes it multi-platform in North American, too, that’s an even bigger blow.
I’m actually looking forward to FF Versus XIII more than FFXIII, but I have to say, both look very promising.
I’m anxious for 358/2 Days, as well. My DS has been getting a little dusty lately.
Birth by Sleep looks promising, too, but Days is the one I really want to play. I’ve had it on pre-order for a month now.
Assassin’s Creed 2 is going to rock. Though that’s the one game that I HAVE to buy for PS3 rather than 360, because of the PS3-exclusive in-game linking feature with the AC: Bloodlines game that’s coming out on PSP.
